Valladolid City Square

As with most Spanish influenced colonial cities, Valladolid is built around a town square with the principle feature being an old and majestic Roman Catholic cathedral. We will have the privilege of being in Valladolid over the weekend when they close down traffic to the square and have bands playing live music with dancing. The squares also have dozens of vendors selling homemade gifts, toys, and crafts. The town also features these cool two seater chairs where a couple is forced to look at each other -- great for conversation. Just think of Saturday's Market in Portland, or the farmer's market in U.S. cities or towns. We have been to Valladolid on a weekend and in the middle of the week. A Saturday and Sunday evening is much more alive -- so bring your dancing shows!
